COPS PROBE FAKE COPS SCAM

STRATHCLYDE POLICE have launched an investigation into an online scam where internet users are told their computer has been locked by the police.
The force are carrying out inquiries after being made aware of a number of incidents where people received a pop-up message saying they had to pay a £100 fine as they had viewed adult content online.
The message claims to be sent from Strathclyde Police but a force spokesperson assured members of the public that it is an online scam and stressed that Strathclyde Police never ask the public for money.
